Holy Lightning Storms Batman

I haven't seen (or heard) storms like this in a long time. The whole sky is lit up in a ghostly white. The thunder is non-stop as is the wind and rain. It looks so surreal.

The power keeps flickering.

I was fast asleep just before it hit.

I saw that storm heading through there. Looks like it's dropping south out of Canada and is going to hit just a little west of me. We're still going to get the rain though. So much for an outdoor physics lab today. The high clouds before the storm made for a beautiful sunrise though.

That storm's headed directly toward me now. The storm's still a fair distance out on the lake, and the thunder's already getting loud, though it's still fairly infrequent.
Looks like it's going to hit right about as I'm leaving for work too, darn it.

Any hail or tornadoes with this one?

We just got a massive hail storm... no thunder or lightning though.

Well that wasn't actually as bad as I was expecting.
What hit here was rain and a lot of lightning. No hail, no tornadoes, and almost no wind.

Plenty of decent bolts though, and lots of sustained cloud-to-cloud that lit up the sky. Thick clouds, too - it was still quite dark this morning. Most of the streetlamps still hadn't powered down for the day.
