Well I have not played this version of the game, but I am very good in most of the arcade versions, so hopefully that will help a bit.

I'll take a look at that one, thanks.

KT

The TE sticks are made with good parts (Sanwa) and are very solid. If you play on arcade, it will be very close to that. Bonus though, you can mod your stick to add different buttons or an octa gate instead of the square if you'd like. Also, the 360 version is easier to mod with a cthulu board for both consoles + PC because you don't have to do a pad hack. If playing on a console means anything to you.

Nope, console means nothing to me, but thanksfor the other info. I guess I'll just go with this thing if I can find one around here.

Well I am at work sadly, but buying as soon as I get a few free hours.

I want to get a boxed copy due to this wonderful event, but I cant wait to play, so may get the Steam version.

EDIT: Apparently the boxed version is only available July 7. So looks like Steam is the only option for now.

Below is the stick I use with my PC and SF IV and it has worked well for me.

http://www.amazon.com/Real-Arcade-Pr...9913857&sr=8-1

The only change I made with this stick was to pop out the square gate and replace it with a octagonal one. All the parts were Sawna out the box. When you do mod your stick you should be aware that you are voiding the warranty so do so with care and foreknowledge of what you are going to do, etc. That being said modding these sticks isn't rocket science. If you able to build your own PC you can mod these sticks easy with your basic standard mods(e.g. replacing buttons, gates, etc).

Still waiting on Steam to finish downloading this game. Its been slow for some reason on my end. :(

Wow... Nice arcade stick dude. I wonder if it is overly sensitive like mine... with my stick, I press forward or back and the character can jump instead. I still cant figure out what to do about that.

It's not that it's overly sensitive, you probably just need a different gate on it. You probably have a square one like his originally did. The gate is the plate on the back of the stick (inside) that restricts the movements. A square one means if you try to go just left or right nothing is stopping it from going up a bit or down except your own hands. That's probably why you have trouble going left or right w/out jumping.

What you would need to do is get an octagonal gate. They have a notch in each of the 8 directions, so it's easy to hold in place. I modded mine to have an octagonal too.

I got these from this mod page: http://www.neo-geo.com/forums/showthread.php?179535-How-to-Mod-your-Hori-Fighting-Stick-Wii

I actually modded my own Wii fight stick to work on the 360. Why? Because the Wii stick + cheap 360 controller was cheaper than any 360 stick. And it was a fun project. I should spend more time on it though as it wasn't done cleanly.

Anybody play this game on a keyboard? lol

I already have SSFIV for the PS3 but want to play it on my iMac display, but then I'd need to buy a controller, aargh.

Man...on the 360 I rocked as Ken with the original SF4...I played probably 10 games last night and won 1 with Adon. I might try out Oni, as I really like his moveset. I like Adon, but need to learn to use him correctly.

If you set your keyboard up correctly, you can do some good things. [w] for left [e] for down [r] for right and [spacebar] for jump. Then just do all punches on 4,5,6 and kicks on 1,2,3 on the numpad. You can roll fireballs and 360s and with the SF shortcuts, you can easily do down forward, down forward for dragon punch.

I'm having major issues with my arcade stick. Judging from the capcom unity forms I'm not the only one either. Xbox 360 controllers seem to work but tons of people with other controllers are having problems. Oh well, guess I'll have to wait for the first patch.

My biggest annoyance is that when I re-map my 360 controller, it then remaps the function of the buttons outside of matches; i.e. right now I have to hit RT to accept and Y to go back.

Actually, I already modded my stick with the octogate but this did not improve the sticks performance at all. Yes, it is easier to do hadoukens and shoryukens, but my stick still feels very "suspect". I even have a problem with some of the buttons just going dead all of a sudden, then mysteriously coming back to life.

I am thinking of an RMA, but I'm pretty sure I am way past warranty, and Madkatz didnt repair sticks that were ever opened last time I heard. Then again, I cant imagine how they would know that I ever opened it.

My friend plays with his Razer keyboard and swears by it. When he refused to buy the arcade stick, I laughed at him thinking he would never get even half way descent, but he got so damn good, that he is able to link simple combos and supers on the keyboard and pulls of his character moves every time he needs to instead of mashing buttons like I still sometimes do.

This is the 3rd revision for SF4. So people are really good. There is a saying that people that play video games don't play street fighter. And people that play street fighter don't play video games.

I wouldn't say that is true. I know quite a few people who play other video games and most pro players don't just play SF and MVC. Being good in Street Fighter is all about fundamentals and execution. Learn those and you'll be good at any Street Fighter. Match ups come into play once you get beyond basics, but can be overcome with smart play.
