I know it's hard to tell, but read the caption closely again. That's a "her" based on the caption. It must suck really bad to attempt suicide like that and then fail, making it that much more difficult to be successful just to try and end your own, self-inflicted misery.
 
aagghhhh! I bet she wishes she had succeeded! I can't imagine life being enjoyable as a burnt-up freak! I feel so bad for her... death was the respite she sought, and she didn't accomplish it, and now her life sucks 500000X more than before!

I wouldn't call it sad. She's a member of a quasi-religious movement (cult?) who was involved in a failed group suicide attempt. She brought her fate upon herself, and is 100% responsible for her condition.

Besides, in the pic, she's smiling...

Well to make it worse, is that she is blind, and most of her mouth tissue melted which is her teech show so well - she can't ever close her mouth. 🙁 ouchie
