ATOT always amazes me. I guess maybe the reason I've stopped posting so much as of late is because I get tired of coming into threads like these where people always try to sound like hardasses and say how they would've handled the situation so much differently and how their opinion is right and so on.

Seriously, some of you people need to be in the same plane that crashes as the mother.

Well the mom's definitely a bitch for the ages, I don't disagree with that. Prolly mental (bipolar?) as well.

I watched "The Good Son" yesterday. Maybe that's why I feel inclined to play devil's advocate in this case.

Mom sounds like she has a point. Kids needs a good slap.

That kid needs a big fvcking slap. He is a huge jerk.

whats up with you guys?
Whats up with me? The kid deliberately fvcks with his mom and then try to be the moral authority when the male comes in. We know NOTHING about the situation, but I would bet money he doesnt pay a dime in rent on that place.

Whats worse, her verbal abuse, or his pshycological abuse?

he's 16...should he really be expected to pay rent?

-=bmacd=-

Get off his a** and get a job

He has a job. And his mother apparently doesn't know how to manage money if she's "asking" her SON for $50 to "buy gas" to "go to work". I suspect that she doesn't have a job because she can't keep one with that kind of attitude - which is why she needs to borrow money, she can never get far enough for that first paycheck.

This is crazy, you people who have sided with the mother, I just don't understand. However, I don't know the law in countries other then the USA regarding this, but I do know that here in the states, what takes place on that video is a crime. The kid may have egged her on, he may have provoked her, he may have sassed her, but it was child abuse, the way she was yelling at him, and that video could get her several years in prison.

Mom sounded crazy but the dude was also probably playing it up for the camera.

Edit: e.g. he might indeed be a worthless little spoiled brat and mom could be justified in her ravings.

It takes 2 to tango.
He must have done some fvcked up sh!t.

that is one crazy mom. divorced...definitely. who in their right mind would deal with that sh*t.

Apparently that douchebag older male. He's as pussy whipped as they come.

WTF is going on there, holy crap. I bet his car, his electronics, and his money come from dad and she resents him for that. She needs serious help.

My Mom has never screamed at me or used ANY curse words. Is it just my mom, or was this mom a bit too much?

My mom screams occasionally..usually at my sister though, and my sister always has it coming 🙂

Granted the kd's putting on a show, but there's no way in hell what the mother is doing/saying is appropriate.

It's child abuse... I can only wonder why the son doesn't live with his dad, guessing he's (dad) a POS too.

The kid is a dick. The "Ask me nicely" crap is what gives it away. If I had ever said anything like that to my mom I would have expected to be slapped. The mom clearly overreacts, but the kid is trying to egg her on. Both suck as far as I care.

same here, my mom would've kicked my ass if I ever talked down to her like that...

Dad sounds like a pvssy too. There is absolutely NO excuse for ANYONE to be acting the way she is. That kid has some major patience and restraint.

I have to agree. The mother has a point about her paying the bills, but he is also a dependant...I believe it's illegal to have your own child thrown out of your house under 18.

And frankly, the kid had a valid point. All she had to do was ask nicely.

Now, the kid had a job...if you caught that in there...he could have purchased all that "sweet gear" himself. It's amazing the amount of disposable income you have when someone else pays for rent, food, bills, etc.

He is 16. The landlord would not allow him on the lease. Any rent arrangement would have to be through his parents/guardians, him reimbursing them.

You have a point...he is probably supported by her/his father, but that doesn't give his mother an excuse to go postal like that. Adults just don't act like that period.
