After confessing, Siyal was found guilty in December 2003 and assigned punishment under Pakistan's "Qisas" law which calls for a perpetrator to suffer the same fate as a victim. The case is now under appeals as Siyal attempts to avoid the judge's assigned punishment of having drops of acid placed in his eyes.

July 28, 2008 - Woman burned by acid-like liquid in robbery

July 29, 2008 - Officials identify acid-like liquid thrown at woman

August 18, 2008 - Teenage girl charged in Chicago area acid attack.

August 19, 2008 - Teen held in attack

You cited one case of an "acid-like" attack, and now we live in Pakistan?

You are correct. I did not realize the articles could be taken as separate instances. I had woken up 10 minutes previous and remembered the article from the day before. My intention was to provide all the information I could on the single event, not make it seem as if they were separate events. Sorry about that.

As it is, this case was more crime based rather than based on a method to control females in society as it is in Pakistan. But I did not have the time to handle that topic before leaving for work.

Sadly, that is humanity. Not just some place in the world, but everywhere.

Funny you say that because I can't recall a time while living in my town where women regularly had boiling acid thrown at their faces or held down and lit on fire.

You must live in a real shit hole... Pakistan maybe?

Salem witch trials? The Muslim world is only a couple centuries behind the civilized world.

Maybe I'll become a genetic engineer, and create a mutagenic virus. Primary effect: 1 testicle will fail to develop in all males. The remaining one will produce just enough testosterone to ensure the possibility of reproduction.
Then wait and see if the level of idiocy improves.
