It's not a question about protecting your property. It's a question about protecting your ass. Oftentimes, they are not content to just take your property, they have to take your life.

Where the hell do you work? South Sac?

Yes, near South Sacramento. Over near Freeport blvd.

Haha figures. Is this when you normally get off work or did you stay late tonight or what? Cuz I'd be worried if this is your normal leaving time and no one is around but you to take on a crazy bum.

Think about it. Obviously, a carjacker puts their desire for your property above your well being. Even if you cooperate totally, you still have a significant risk of personal injury. I dont see how putting your desire to protect yourself and your property above their well being is morally wrong.

Problem was I got a sh1tty parking space that was way the hell out there today. There was an accident on the 50 freeway that made me get a crappy parking space. I left when nobody was around but for some reason there were a bunch of weirdos out tonight. I know to watch my back even more now. I plan on quitting by May and leaving Sacramento hopefully.

Sacramento is pretty nice when you think about it. Good climate, nice areas, close to 80, 50, 5, 99, and not far from the mountains or beach. Only thing I hate is the fvcking soccer mom drivers. And the prick drivers. But those are all over I guess.

I know what you mean about weirdos being out tonight though, I noticed it when I was filling up at the local 7-11. Then again there are always weird fvcks there, it's right next to a strip club and part of the parking area isn't that well-lit.

Oh, wait, you mean to say "They make it nearly impossible for a law abiding citizen to carry gun in CA."

It's nice, but I'm from Southern California and eventually want to go back. Funny thing is, I lived in San Jose a few years back and never felt like I had to watch my back as often as I do in Sacramento. It's probably only where I work though.

Good reason to carry a gun.

In many states you're going to have to prove there was a legitimate threat to your life and there was no way out of the situation in order to use deadly force (with Texas being the one glaring exception to this rule).

Good reason to live in Texas. :p
