I just completely cleaned all of the dust out of my computer by hand. In a few weeks whenever I have money to go buy some compressed air I'll clean it again. I haven't thoroughly cleaned my PC since I got it (4 years ago). I won't ever do that again without compressed air.

i cant stand it when people buy those cans of air... you can buy small portable pump tanks at menards or lowes for $75 that you just plug in the wall and they fill a 1 gallon tank with 90psi. more air then youll ever need and you can use it for everything else too.

yeah one of these... any model will do, you wont be using it every day- http://www.amazon.com/PanCake-...qid=1202676376&sr=8-48

Well I'm not going to buy something like that because I wouldn't use it for anything else. The can of air is just enough to clean my computer and a few other dusty things.

So you just blew all the Dust and crap into the room....Nice.

Vacuum it out next time.....Much easier and cleaner.

How about using canned air, and holding a vacuum cleaner close, that's what I used to do with really dusted up rigs. Nowadays, with dust filters, not much dust accumalates in my case anyways, and I really only use canned air to dust out my heatsink and really hard to reach places I suspect of dust accuamalation. I think one can of compressed air lasts me half a year, if not longer.

Try a paint brush on heatsink fins, and if you want, on other areas in the case. A one-inch brush works for me. Natural bristle brushes don't get bent or mishapen but they cost a bit more than "plastic" bristle brushes.
Happy cleaning!

doing this indoors is just asking for a dust storm. I always take it out to the balcony to blast it

try to keep the sensitive components out of the UV rays though. after dusk is best

Just get a case with a filter in it. Every month or so, I just run it under water to clean it out and then reinstall it. 2 years now and I haven't had to blow out the case even once.

Good point, I haven't done it in about nine months. I remember one time a few years ago I opened my case to clean the fans and there was a dead spider in the bottom...

Yeah I just go outside and blast with compressed air. The dust and debris is good fertilizer for my plants. :D
