well, you've got tornado watches, and tornado warnings. One of them meant a twister was spotted on the ground, but I could never remember which!

Since I have heard this on the radio/TV virtually once a week since I was a kid.

Tornado Warning: Could be a tornado indicated by radar, or a visually confirmed rotating wall cloud
