The guy mentions TWC throttling, but some users said this works for verizon FIOS too... just tried with my optimum online connection and that works too! I just tried some 1080p videos on youtube... the dark night trailer is 2 minutes 30 seconds long and it fully loaded in like 15 seconds for me. Normally, when i do 1080p, i run the risk of buffering.

Edit: website is down but it's cached here https://webcache.googleusercontent....e/+&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=ee&client=firefox-a

Edit 2: just in case that goes down too

Thinks about what this could do..............says no
Looks at post count.............running it now :D

The trick didn't help me on Roadrunner (Brighthouse). The only videos that will load are ones with almost no video (i.e. A Dose of Buckley). For about a week, any video will partially load and stop (even at 480p and lower). When the vid reaches the load point, it will stop and never continue. It's some odd shit.

Must be a lot of people doing this. Youtube has been much quicker lately (and I didn't make the change).

Judging from the download speed I was getting before and after while watching a large 1hr Youtube video... it's not doing much difference for me. Getting 250KBps at times without the hack and not any better with it. No real buffering issues before. FIOS.

The only YT issue I really have is it takes quite a few seconds for any video to start rolling from the black screen... which I assume is initial buffering and normal.

Why YOUTUBE?

What about those "other" videos? If you know what I mean....
