I read about this guy a while ago; this sounds like they're just continuing the previous research they'd done a few years back. They'd already shown they could grow neurons on silicon chips and interface with them through the electronics, so I'm not sure what new spin they've got on it now...

Still pretty cool, though.

I'm a perpetual optimist, I believe SCI-FI shows us the potential horrors of Science and in reality helps Scientists avoid the potential mistakes before they happen. In the case of the Atomic bomb I believe that SC-FI writers did such an excellent job of depicting the multitude of different horrific consequences of a nuclear war that even goverment heads were frightened enough by them to keep their fingers off the button at times they would have loved to of pushed it. This will be another technology that will find more use than abuse me thinks. If I'm wrong...well....I'll have to break out my copy of the Anarchist cookbook and get ready to frag some cyborgs eh?

darn, i wish i were younger so that i could see implementation in humans, i would love to have artificial parts on me to enhance me and possibly even a ram drive for storage and a mathco proccesoor too
