Ten years in an airport? The guy probably thinks he discovered the fountain of youth-wait until he finds out that life just seems to be eternal there.

there is also another thing I don't understand

1)His papers are stolen

2)He then boards a plane to Great-Britain. this is 1988 - before the Schengen agreement, that means that there are still border controls between European countries. Normally when you have an international flight they already check your papers at check in. For every international flight I have taken from Brussels they already checked my identity at check-in and they sure as hell would not let me through without showing some sort of ID. Even nowadays for European flight they check your identity at check in to see if your identity is the same as your name on the boarding pass (probably for safety reasons).
That means that they let him on a (international) flight without that he had to prove his identity

I remember seeing this on tv about a year ago. It might have been on Ripley's Believe it or Not. They followed him arount he airport. Very weird. Everyone at the airport knows him.

That just pissed me off.

which part of it?

Its just really sad to me.

The fact that he has been screwed over, and now leads a basically useless life.

He's been given two opportunities to make due, but his own stubborness shot them both down. I felt bad for him up until that point, but after that, my compassion died.

Doesn't seem that he will ever leave. It sounds like he's scared to leave the airport now, it has become his home. And, the fact that he is going a little loco doesn't help.

"In 1995, the Belgian government finally told Nasseri that he could retrieve his refugee documents if he agreed to live in Belgium under the supervision of a social worker. Nasseri refused. He said he would move only to Great Britain. "

He's at fault too :p If I see this freak, I'm gonna slap him ... what a waste of a life.
