i feel sorry for people who live ( as i use to ) in desert regions where it gets very very hot! i'd prefer the cold anyday compared to heat!

FUD = Fear, Uncertainty, and Disorder (basically what news has become so that you have to watch the entire newscast)

Looks like the local meteorologists is going to have to take a bath...

He said if we didn't get some snow by the end of February he would jump into the fountain outside the TV station...Close but no cigar...

Looks like I'll be getting on the road at 5:15 a.m. here in DC for my 25 mile commute. I want to get to the office before this crap hits and drops 7".

HOT DOG!

Get to use the new snowblower again! (hoping for the maximum snow total). Let's push the machine to the limit and see how it performs!

<------ Does best "Tim Taylor tool-time grunt"

That one storm just over the midwest is comming our way this afternoon. We are expecting up to 20 cm of snow today and more tommorrow.

WINTER STORM WATCH FOR
LONDON - PARKHILL - EASTERN MIDDLESEX COUNTY CONTINUED

WINTER STORM WITH EXTENDED PERIOD OF SNOW BEGINNING THIS AFTERNOON.

THIS IS AN ALERT TO THE POTENTIAL DEVELOPMENT OF DANGEROUS WINTER
WEATHER CONDITIONS IN THESE REGIONS. MONITOR WEATHER CONDITIONS..
LISTEN FOR UPDATED STATEMENTS.

A COMPLEX DISTURBANCE EXTENDING FROM A LOW OVER THE US MIDWEST TO ANOTHER LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM OFF THE NORTH CAROLINA COAST IS SHOWING SIGNS OF GETTING BETTER ORGANIZED THIS MORNING. AS THE LOW PRESSURE AREA FROM THE US MIDWEST DEEPENS WHILE TRACKING TOWARDS LAKE ERIE TONIGHT..SNOW WILL MOVE INTO SOUTHERN ONTARIO TODAY AND EASTERN ONTARIO TONIGHT.

THE SNOW WILL BECOME QUITE HEAVY AT TIMES TONIGHT AND TUESDAY WITH A PROLONGED PERIOD OF SNOW LIKELY ACROSS THE DISTRICT. AS A RESULT SIGNIFICANT TOTAL ACCUMULATIONS OF 15 TO 20 CM ARE QUITE POSSIBLE BY TUESDAY NIGHT. BRISK NORTHWESTERLY WINDS WILL ALSO DEVELOP LATER TUESDAY AS THE DEEPENING LOW MOVES TO NEW ENGLAND CAUSING DRIFTING AND BLOWING SNOW.

STRONG WINDS MAY BECOME MORE GENERAL ON WEDNESDAY IN THE WAKE OF THE STORM CENTRE CAUSING BLOWING SNOW..WITH SNOWSQUALLS OFF OF LAKE HURON INTO THE TRADITIONAL SNOWBELT REGIONS ALSO EXPECTED.

TRAVELLERS SHOULD EXERCISE EXTREME CAUTION. DRIVING CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED TO DETERIORATE QUICKLY TONIGHT AND REMAIN HAZARDOUS THROUGH TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY DUE TO LOW VISIBILITY AT TIMES IN HEAVY SNOW AND LOCAL BLOWING SNOW.

THIS WATCH MAY BE UPGRADED TO A WARNING AS THE SITUATION WARRANTS AND THE STORM GETS CLOSER.
