remember my battery problem? Yeah, well, way home tonight, battery died. I luckily had a battery jumper pack w/ me. I pluged it onto the battery and started the car, It wouldnt run without the jumper pack

I found a place to put in the back of the hood, but could not close it

I had about 2 KM left to get home, going about 60, so that the hood doesnt flip up.

I hit a little bump, the hood bounces a bit, and flips up, blinds me, and dents my hood to hell, and my windsheild shatters. Lucky I had enough time to go on the shoulder before someone hit me or I hit someone. I get home, put on the tester, my battery was dead, and the alternator aint working.

My insurance plan is for fire and theft, will anything be covered?

Thanks for all the help..

life sucks

MY CAR: honda civic lx se 1999 4 dr
EDIT: How much money does an alternator cost? How about a full windsheild, and the hood to get fixed?

Umm....why in the hell would you drive your car with the hood not closed?

Didnt have the choice, in the middle of no where, car wont start, and nothing to pull the car, it was almost closed, Im thinking a van passed by and pushed it up. (I didnt notice what happened, was in shock)

Going about 60 so it doesn't flip up?

You should have been absolutely crawling in first gear, if anything.

Driving at any kind of speed with an unlatched hood is just asking for a broken windshield.

Viper GTS

HAHAHA chuck this up to one of the dumber things people have done to their cars here on Anand 😀

And what about hood jobs? its not THAT bad, i can still close it, but it looks like shit.

Get one at a junkyard for $75 and then paint it yourself if you can't find one that m atches

I guess I was right about the alternator? heh The alternator should be about $80 at a junk yard. The windshield/hood I have no clue. Should have towed it

Unless if you're lazy and not-mechanically-inclined like I am 🙂

couldnt you ahve jsut driven like 20? I mean really 2k. and really thinking your actually GONNA keep the hood down at 60mph. MAn I hope you havent slept in like 2 days to think that and to actually do it

I was going between 50 and 60 KM /h, and the hood was shut almost competely, I totally didnt realise it was that risky, first time I get stuck on the side of the road. God damn it. Why did this have to happen. The fvcked up alternator was good enough for me.

Oh, and my dad had the same luck this morning. He backed up into my moms brand new chrysler sebring, + he has a big hitch on his van, so he put 800$ of damage into the car.

And I was planning on having a great weekend after all the homework I did all week.
