Our skeeters down here in FL sound like a Blackhawk helo coming in for a landing......and can give debilitating brain disorders like West Nile and RonZooksYourCoach.

There have been a few (like 3 or four) tiny little spiders in my dorm room. They're really small, about as big as my thumb nail, and they're all white. I'm assuming they're harmless, but they still freak me out. I'm jumpy as heck now.

Yeah, I run into them once in a while in my house, tend to only see them at night. Very firm bodies, don't squish easily. I thought they were silverfish, but every picture of them I find doesn't look the same. Definitely some sort of centipede type thing.

BTW, there are harmless and quite poisonous centipedes roaming the world.
The more south (and warmer), usually the more poisonous ...

I've seen a bunch of those bastards in my house. They are kinda cool, cause if you smash them with a news paper, or step on them, their legs and stuff keep twitching even when they are not attached to their bodies!

you pansies!

when i moved into my new place, i was living in the basement, and that place was spider alley...i have like 4 spiders on each wall.

must be a tiger mosquito..everyone in FL knows an old style woods mosquito will stand flat-footed and rape a turkey

Now that the weather is turning cold I average killing about 1 a week of those centipedes in my house. I started taking down a fieldstone wall that was near the house in the fall and it was crawling with them, and some are coming into the house now. The fuzzy ones are harmless (I think). The really nasty ones have orange legs and look downright nasty, but are primarly found in rain forests and the like. They aren't too bad to have around because I think they eat other bugs kind of like spiders do. They are just creepy. They can get pretty big too, and when you stomp the big ones their legs will come flying out from under your feet when they go splat.
