Summary: Dumbass merging hits woman in SUV. Woman in SUV has the driving skills of a monkey on crack-cocaine, swerves & over-corrects wildly, causing her ginormous SUV (that was only carrying herself & her cell phone glued to her ear) to roll over and crash spectacularly.

SUV or car, if you get your wheels caught in dirt while travelling sideways @ 70mph you are probably going to roll spectacularly.
True true. The more I look at the video, the more it looks like the middle car didn't even hit the SUV 😕 Its hard to tell...

No, I don't think they touched. Looks like both cars overreacted. The SUV was just unlucky that the ground was soft enough to sink into.

I guess the only way to know if they touched is to check the side of the SUV for any dents on that side.

BTW, what kind of SUV was it, Grand Cherokee? I cannot tell.
That or an Explorer I think.

EDIT I think its def a Ford, doesn't look like a Jeep on the back end.
I'm going to pretend it was a jeep because it makes the ad attached to the video hilarious. When I loaded the video, it was preceded by a spot for their local Chrysler/Jeep dealer 😀

Considering how many times it rolled over I doubt you'd be able to tell.

You might be able to inspect the SUV for the other cars paint.

B/C we all know that in a split second you would have reacted with the skills of The Stig and would have saved the vehicle...

That's bullsh!t. Basic driving skills include knowing not to serve hard back onto pavement. Slowly merge back over or you WILL wreck. Yes, a soft shoulder is a bad thing, but this wreck was due to inexperience and driving skills. You don't have to be the Stig not to wreck there...

What a lame accident. Could you imagine how dumb you'd feel if you were the guy who caused that accident?

Talk is cheap when you're in front of a PC. Let's see how you react when you're driving 65MPH down the highway and a car swerves into your lane.

If the car did not touch the SUV, how is it at fault?

Uhh.....think long and hard on this one grasshopper.

The car switched lanes without looking, that's reckless driving.

You're telling me that you can be driving, scaring the sh!t out of people by pretending to clip their cars then quickly go back to your original lane and leave faultless? Yeah I don't think so.

I think that this post by VarianceJ30 over at TCL pretty much sums up my thoughts on the SUV driver:

Maybe because she's human?

For God's sake, you can't expect people to thing about every single thing when facing an imminent danger:

-I'm in an SUV.
-It has a high-center of gravity.
-I shouldn't jerk the wheel too hard.
-There's unpaved road to the left of me.
-If I swerve over, I could lose traction and get in worse trouble.
-Is there anyone behind me? I could brake.
-Should I just blow my horn?

Do you really expect anyone (let alone just your average driver) to process all of this (and maybe more) in their mind within maybe a two second span in trying to avoid a possible impact from the other car? No. Most people are going to think: "Oh ****! I gotta get the **** away from this ass." Hell, they may not even get past "Oh ****!" and just act.

People make mistakes, we can't all be gods of driving.

Your right, it would qualify as dangerous driving by the car.

95% of people wouldn't know or be too damn scared to use any sense, but when you get pushed off the road, you should keep going and brake, if you try and steer the other way, you're asking to get flipped.

What the hell is wrong with you? I've had people swerve into my lane more than once, and I was doing way more than 65mph. I'm sorry you are a sh!tty driver or whatever, but there are those of us that CAN drive.

What part of "it is taught in driver's ed or in your state's driving manual" don't you understand? If you run off the shoulder you do NOT jerk the wheel back onto the pavement. You gradually reduce speed and you slightly move the wheel back to get back on the pavement. I'm sorry, but if anything this proves that we need better driver training. It is NOT common sense to jerk the wheel really hard to get back on the road. That's called stupidity.

It's pretty obvious someone hit an anti-gravity well..

but, this video sucks ! PSA, if you're going to video an accident, get up there close !

SUV's are the suck

One less on the road with that one.

After living through more than a few barrel rolls at 60+mph odds are she will buy another SUV since that one saved her life.
