I know, I was shocked that during the 9 hours I slept the GUI hadn't finished one WU. I'm using CLI now and it's waaaay faster as your benchmarks above state.
 
A lot of it is down to the GUI using CPU power to show the graphics ,if the GUI is minimsed or 'blank screened' then the CLI is 'only' about 25% faster😉
