In L.A. it's an EVENT, all other programming is preempted. The media doesn't care about reducing it, in fact they probably love it.

why don't you just explain yourself by directly answering this question? How does the medias portrayal of airing car chases that 99% of the time end in crashes/injury/arrest further promote people to partake in such a stupid conquest? Be direct. If your gonna post as often as you do, make at least some of them worthwhile.
