Not sure if the 90% figure applies to US locks, as this report was made in Netherlands.

The scary thing is you can buy these things online or have them made by a locksmith.

Yeah, I definitely need to get my hands on one of these. Not that I plan on breaking into someones house or anything, I just like little things like this.

Neat video. People are going to steal regardless of how easy/tough it is to break in.

That's because everyone else uses thread titles like yours. Note that none of those searches will find this thread, either.

Not going to help. Unless you're lucky enough to have the cops on your doorstep in 4-5 minutes minimum, you're house will be empty and theives gone by then. If you want to seriously protect your house, you'll need much more than alarm.

I actually found it in a search for "bump" and, subsequently, "bump keys".

I read about this a couple of days ago from digg.com
The video is in europe, guessing the key styles in the U.S. are different?

Why are you guessing that? The keys in the video look just the same as the ones we have here.

It seems it's a failure in the general way keys work so I would think it applies to US locks too.

Yeah I did some reading up on locksmithing, picking locks, and the standard pin tumbler locks. You can bump them.

I'd like to learn how to pick locks old-school, though. It looks awesome.
