Just amplify the good and minimalize everything about the E4's. The E4's are more forgiving in terms of portability, mainly due to them not coming with molded plugs. As for the pluses, UE's were just so defined in the highs, but not over bearingly sharp. The lows in my opinion were just "exceptional" 😛 I guess they are transparent, meaning you're hearing what you're supposed to hear. If the Qualia 010's are supposed to be the most transparent headphones in the world, then the UE10's are the most transparent canals. Ofcourse I've never had the oppurtunity to try a set of 010's.

So yes, I do wish at times that I had spent the extra dough and went through with the UE's.

No word on whether these need a break in period.

Nonetheless, they sound very nice out of the box and immediately reveal the limitations of the source. As thought. These definitely sound much better with an amp. The 5G ipod (and laugh but it's true) and shuffle sound quite nice on their own. Using a real amp though - holy cow what an incredible difference. Either way, it's amazing how real the presentation is.

If you can afford these, the decision should be obvious. These would be worth eating bread and water for a month if needed! Yeah, they're that good. 😀
