I was taking it last week, before I went to the doctor and found out I have bronchitis, and it is a very good cough medicine. I did not notice any side effects whatsoever though.

never heard of it?

Its an OTC cough medication which contains Dextromethorphan as its only active ingredient.

don't a lot of cough syrups have that same active ingredient?

In fact most do, however its the only one I've ever seen that has it alone as its only active ingredient ... most others contain an antihistimine and/or a decongestant plus somtimes an expectorant as well.

Then you're not reading the labels at all.............ever hear of Robitussin DM? Nothing but dextromethorphan and guaifenesin as its active ingredients. Then there is just plain old Robitussin......only has dextromethorphan as its only active ingredient.

There are any number of cough preps on the market that are just like that.......but due to marketing and a lot of people's desire for an all-in-one fix, the multisymptom cough preps are stocked much heavier. You just have to LOOK for the simpler preparations, but I assure you they are there.

DXM baby. You've gotta make sure it's the only active, but it does work. It's still fairly dangerous and you've got to drink a lot to have any noticeable effects, but hey, it's otc! ;)
