In his book Russia's War, British historian Richard Overy describes how the Germans sought more efficient ways to kill people. In 1941, after occupying Belarus, they used mental patients from Minsk asylums as guinea pigs. Initially, they tried shooting them by having them stand one behind the other, so that several people could be killed with one bullet, but it was too slow. Then they tried dynamite, but few were killed and many were left wounded with hands and legs missing, so that the Germans had to finish them off with machine guns. In October 1941, in Mogilev, they tried the Gaswagen or "gas car". First they used a light military car, and it took more than 30 minutes for people to die. Then they used a larger truck exhaust and it took only eight minutes to kill all the people inside.

Sulfonamide experiments. From about July 1942 to about September 1943 experiments to investigate the effectiveness of sulfonamide were conducted at the Ravensbrück concentration camp for the benefit of the German Armed Forces. Wounds deliberately inflicted on the experimental subjects were infected with bacteria such as streptococcus, gas gangrene, and tetanus. Circulation of blood was interrupted by tying off blood vessels at both ends of the wound to create a condition similar to that of a battlefield wound. Infection was aggravated by forcing wood shavings and ground glass into the wounds. The infection was treated with sulfonamide and other drugs to determine their effectiveness. Some subjects died as a result of these experiments and others suffered serious injury and intense agony.

I am jewish and have had members of my exteneded family killed by the holocuast and still am even quoted up there saying hahahha.....I have a dark sence of humor and we all know nothing means anything by it....so stop trying to act like it offends you OP to get some attention.....why? because they people calling that they are non racist are usually the ones that are because they are so uncomfortable with things like that because they truly know they are.....
so for you sir.....i strongly reccomend to twist to the right and then follow with a strong, jolly good pull, and the stick should come out nice and easy

I gotta admit, some of those quotes are pushing it, but that doesn't mean I didn't laugh. Racist jokes from racist people are not funny. However, a funny joke is a funny joke, no denying that. If the joke is racist, the teller has to take great care to get across the fact that it's only a joke and nothing more.
i'm jewish and i purposely stayed out of that thread just to make sure i wouldn't be offended by any jokes.
sure, they can be humorous and funny, but nobody should celebrate the death of millions. you don't see many 9/11 jokes around here either.
while i do agree with So, nobody really knows if there's an anti-Semite behind the joke. as such, the humor should not even be attempted, however funny it may be.
my $0.02. i tried to avoid feeling personally attacked (or religiously, if you will), but i can see why others may agree that this is no laughing matter.

These aren't Jewish jokes, maybe laughing about someone's nose, or their fiscal penuriousness. They are jokes celebrating the attempt of a genocidal madman to EXTERMINATE a whole race.
It's the difference between a joke about about black people, and a joke about KKK lynchings.
It's the difference between a joke about the fashion sensibilities of some folks, and a joke about dragging them behind a pickup for a few miles until dead.
It's those differences (except in this case multiplied by MILLIONS) that are for debate. Tell Jewish jokes all day long, tell Polish jokes all day long.
I guess mocking the deaths of millions with some *jokes* is acceptable, and any disagreement will be met with the "aw, you ain't gots no sense of humor" approach. Well, "you ain't got no taste", or class.
Ignorance of the horrors of history and mocking, laughing, and tacitly endorsing them by doing such will lead to repeats of these atrocities, as demonstrated by the continuing attempts at genocide over the years since.
How about some jokes about some more "ethnic cleansings"?
