Hollywood seems to be out of touch with things. The marketing teams need to get a new job. I don't know of a SINGLE person that had planned on seeing this crappy-looking movie, and yet it was supposed to be the biggest movie of the week?

How stupid is that? Football is on and the weather is finally getting cool enough that we can come out from the dark, air conditioned theaters.

It's a seasonal thing....people don't see movies this time of year, they go outside and drink beer and grill out. It's Fall.

Sometimes I will see five movies in a month, sometimes I will go five weeks without seeing one. Give me quality content and I'll be there at 10PM, every Friday night.

Ben Stiller is probably the most boring man in comedy. Give me Jack Black, Adam Sandler, Will Ferrel, Steve Zahn or a Hugh Grant rom-com. All these guys play the same character in their movies but they are actually likable and funny without trying hard. Ben Stiller always plays the same quiet-man on the edge of losing his sanity and starts yelling/ranting halfway through the movie and it gets tiring.

Yeah, I would certainly rather play Halo 3 than watch a movie with Mr. Anti-funny (Ben Stiller).

Seriously...maybe the world at large just sat down on the couch and thought "Wait a minute...all the movies he's done suck. And why the hell did I watch Meet the Parents 2?"

Desperation is a stinky cologne.

Do the math on the hour to dollar fun ratio.

Movies: 2 hours, $8. $4 an hour.
Game: 100 hours, $60. $.60 an hour.

And there's no guarantee that movie will be fun at all.

At least the popcorn is expensive though, right?

Yeah, I have enjoyed some of Ben Stiller's movies, but I'm not even sure if I'd watch this one on cable.

Affordable home theater and the DVD were the death of the box office, and nothing else.

I can't remember the last time I went to the movie theater since I bought my home theater system. I can't stand kids crying and stupid people talking on the cell while the movie is on. Hollywood blames everyone beside themself for making shit+y movies.

I agree with you on the last sentence, but to be fair, the bolded part isnt really hollywood's fault

Yes it is. If they would just release the movie on DVD at the same time as it came out in theatres I could avoid the problem all together by never going to the theatre! :p

Ben Stiller gets as much hate as Ben Affleck, and I don't think he really deserves it. Yeah, he doesn't have a lot of range as an actor. But some of his movies are pretty funny.

Zoolander
Meet the Parents (yeah, the second one was not as good... I didn't even watch the whole thing)
Dodgeball

Even Along Came Polly wasn't so bad, thanks in large part to the awesome as usual performance by Philip Seymoure Hoffman. And the hot as usual Jennifer Aniston. And Hank Azaria always makes me laugh, even if his part was tiny. Alec Baldwin's small part was great. So basically Stiller was just along for the ride. :p
