The Hollywood 48 Hour Miracle Diet Website

Anyone know anything about this? Does it really work? Is it BS?

According to the website,

<< A test involving 27 volunteers, both men and women ranging in age from 18-67 years old, revealed that the participants on average lost 4.5% of their body weight and lost a significant amount of fat. The report also found that " Each participant lost a significant amount of weight. The weight loss ranged from 4.5 pounds to 16.5 pounds. >>

I just picked up a bottle at my local GNC... and will tell you in Thursday if it works or not...

Can't believe it works. If losing weight was that easy, everyone would be thin. Same theroy applies for "get rich quick" schemes.

4.5lbs isn't all that much. A good visit to the bathroom can help you lose part of that, just ask any wrestler (actual wrestling, like in the olympics). I dropped 5 lbs when I started skipping snacks and riding my bike again. It can be done, we just need to stop spending so much time in the forums :D

You know what it is?

These pills give you diarrhea, and you crap out all the water in your system. It's basically a radical dehydration scheme to lose the weight. Since most of the weight in your body is really water, you can shed a lot of it really quick (like when you're on the pot with the runs) at the risk of dehydration.

Be wary. Try losing weight the right (albeit slower) way.

Yeah, but it's a 100% liquid diet... i've tried liquid diets and lost about 10 lbs in 2 weeks... i just wonder if you really can lose 10lbs in 2 DAYS

Yes it works. It's not very healthy. You basically drink fruit juice for 2 days. Anyone would lose weight doing that.

There is no such thing as a "miracle" diet.

The most effective way to lose way is to eat balanced meals and exercise, with emphasis on the exercise part.

Yeah. I hear this commercial every morning. Hi this is fat Pat.

Well if you're still fat! And you've been using this diet! Why the hell aren't you thin Pat!

Well anyways, this guy is a spokesperson. And he's been using this diet. And I have seen him in person. Both on the diet and off it. You'll gain the weight right back after whatever event it is you plan on losing weight for. But you can lose that 10lbs and it IS mostly water weight just like those protein diets.

don't do this. It's not healthy! All that up and down weight is gonna cause problems for your internal organs. They're kinda like a computerized engine. It takes time to get used to a certain setting, and if the gas goes too lean or too rich, well you might have some problems in the future. Stressing out your organs is no way to increase your life span. Sure losing weight is great and all, but losing 10 lbs in 2 days! Ridiculous! 10 lbs in maybe 2 months is reasonable.

If you're serious about losing weight, and doing it the right way, I highly suggest this website as well as the accompanying book:

Body for Life

I have been on this program for 9 weeks now, and since beginning I have lost 30 lbs (40 lbs of fat, gained 10 lbs of muscle). When I started I was a 39 in the waist, and now I'm a 34. It's not some 12 week craze diet or anything, but rather an emphasis on changing your nutritional habits and workout habits for life. It's all about setting goals and achieving those goals, both personal and superficial.

Nothing is quick when it comes to staying in good shape, but the principles are simple:

1. Don't feed yourself crap
2. Exercise

Best of luck! :D

dude, its all water weight, i'm sorry. no human can metabolize 12 pounds of fat in 2 days. 1 pound of fat = 3500 calories. you lost 1 pound of fat...maybe 2.

Were you sh1tting water for 2 days?

Guyver: If you are serious about eating a proper diet and exercising to change your body, then I highly suggest Body for Life. The book will cost you about $15, but it is absolutely worth every penny.

So far on Body for Life (which I've been on for 9.5 weeks) I have lost 30 lbs (40 of fat, gained 10lbs in muscle), dropped over 4" in my waist size, and you wouldn't believe how purely GOOD I feel these days compared to those when I was gorging on McDonald's.

Just some food for thought... if you really are serious, the program will work wonders for you.

yeah.. it probably is water weight...but who cares.. its weight... and it gives me the incentive to work harder to keep it off... so it does its job...

besides.. it did help with my appetite... i didnt eat any solids for 2 days, and i dont feel cravings or need to "eat" all the time like i used to. If all it does it help me control how much i eat and how often i eat... it works for me.

i will look into it and maybe give it a try.... i used to work in a bookstore so i'm VERY skeptical about all these diet fad books... i've seen hundreds of 'em..

Dr Atkins
Carbohydrate Addicts Diet
40-30-30 Diet
The blood type diet
Eat Great, Lose Weight...
and so on and so on...

so i'm quite skeptical as to if ANY of these work..

A small 2 or 3 day change in your diet isn't a huge deal. A change in your diet for the rest of your life is extremely difficult. And something that is made to work for 2 or 3 days won't work forever. Changing your body drastically will be difficult, but I do wish you luck.

Visually, can you see a big difference? Did you lose a size or two from your waist? 12lbs is A LOT in 48 hrs.

guyver: Body for Life is NOT a fad diet by any means. Everything is laid out in simple terms, easy enough for anyone to follow. I eat 6 times a day, eat only good proteins/carbs/veggies, lift weights 3 days a week and do cardio another 3 days a week. The program described within the book is really more about changing your life, not just dropping 30 lbs and then going back to what you were doing before.

I have changed my diet completely... I don't eat fried food, sugar, fatty stuff (dressing, cheese), empty carbs (fries, pizza), and a host of other things that, after you quit ingesting them, will help you realize just how bad they are for you. I can't eat a burger now without feeling sick 2 hours later because of all the grease and crap in it.

If you're remotely interested, check out the guestbook at bodyforlife.com... every day it's full of people succeeding just by making a few simple changes to their diet and workout regimen.
