Holidays Depress Me

Not 100% sure why but I'm glad Xmas is about over. It feels like a weight lifting off my shoulders. Maybe it's because I realize how dysfunctional my family is or I should be doing something grand in life but in reality it's just average.
I guess I'm the only one?

I used to feel like that when I expected some great Christmas movie-type holiday experience. I also judged how good a Christmas was by the things I got or how people treated me.

Now I focus on making the holiday better for other people. I didn't get a single gift except for the ATOT SS gift...but this was the best Christmas ever. I can't wait to do it again next year.

Yah I think holidays are great when you are a little kid because you are less aware of the emotional chemistry around you, and as you get older and become more aware of those around you, you realize some serious conflicts and stuff.

I really just find solace in doing my part to make other people feel happy.

and i live in so fla so it's never festive here it doesn't even get cold

must be weird living in AU and celebrating christmas in summertime... lol.

this is the first christmas i haven't enjoyed all that much. i'm kind of glad it's over as well.

I got kind of pissed off earlier today after my dad said something to me (which, in his annoyed state, he didn't even realize was offensive), so I broke a towel rack, shattered one of the wheels on a wheelie-chair, and did some push-ups. Now I'm on my way to getting drunk and full of food, so I'm happy enough.

In my experience, the holidays tend to bring out both the worst and best in people.
