Holiday Gift Ideas

So it's the time of year to go out and buy presents for friends and family, and this year I am really low on ideas. So I figured I'd ask you guys what you are buying your loved ones - or even what you are asking for. Maybe we can get a healthy listing going.

Any creative suggestions for gifts for girlfriends, parents, siblings, etc? Anything special on the top of your list?

I usually buy a mix of personalized gifts and canned gifts. I mix and match so the people feel like they get something crappy and something good.... (the contrast gives them a feeling of more presents that are cheap and suck, but they appreciate the good ones more)

I suggest checking out Office Depot's gift section a week before Xmas. They usually have a lot of cheap crap under $10 that's pretty cool. Picture frames are always nice. Gadgets, etc from outdoors shops...pocket knives...tools.....polo shirts for family members (the cheap ones from amazon.com)

I haven't started shopping much this year. I may update my list as I get things...

I leave most of that to my wife. Christmas is just an excuse to go into debt. There are few original or even worthwhile gifts once you have a job.

Same thing they get every year...nothing! (except the g/f of course)

Actually about 5 years ago I got tired of the BS associated with all these gifts. I decided that my family had enough useless stuff and there were others who didn't have enough. I go to the Angel Tree at the mall and take 1 for each person I would normally buy for, between 5-7 gifts. So while I am happy to be with my family and enjoying Christmas, there are others that are a little happier each year too. Why give my mom yet another sweater when one of the little kids is asking for new shoes so their feet don't get wet? Kinda corny but my whole family does it now.

I'm totally at a loss for my secret santa gift.

I pulled my friend's fiance... wtf do you get for a 21 year-old girl that you know nothing about (but nothing too personal since she's not my gf or anything ).

I've got my eye on a nice marble wine rack for my mom, and maybe a couple basic cookbooks for my sister... she's getting married soon and my mom keeps harping on the fact that neither she nor her future husband can cook worth a damn. lol.
