Definitely looking forward to seeing this. The DEATH character doesn't look very good to me though. seems to horror-ish (yes, i know he's DEATH, but still, he seems like a nice anthropomorphic (sp?) personification).

Thats the problem with books to movies, what you have in your mind isn't what someone else does. However, much of the artwork by Paul Kidby is really close, if not spot on of how I see the characters.

I just hoep i'm not disappointed by the movie.

I've read all the Discworld novels. I didn't think Hogfather was very good compared to the others. Wonder why they picked THIS book out of the 30+ Discworld novels?

yeah, i'm not sure why either. although, i'm not sure which one i would have picked. One of the Rincewind, witches, or Night Watch books would be high up on my list though.

I have a copy of the animated Wyrd Sisters, but I found it rather boring. I'm not sure if it's just this particular adaptation sucked, or that Pratchett's brilliant humor fails to translate to film.

The book was (of course!) was much much better.

I think "Guards! Guards!" would make a good movie. It's action oriented, and has a DRAGON. Can't get any better than a dragon! Plus I think the Sam Vimes stories are my favorites.

Are you sure this is going to be a big movie? The impression I get from IMDB is it's going to be something to be shown on british tv.

As far as I know it's an adaptation to be shown on Sky One (a british cable/satellite TV channel) later this year, not for release generally.

yeah, Wyrd Sisters didn't translate very well to film. I have the animated Soul Music which I thought was a lot better.

Bump, since it was shown over the last 2 nights.
There are "ways" to get it, but it's also going to be released on R2 DVD in Easter (Hallmark may also be doing international distribution).
Definitely worth a watch IMO.
