I think you're right. He turned water into wine, that would be pretty handy at a frat party.

does any non christian peeps think that maybe Jesus was a cool guy, but his followers, over time, played things out kinda crazy? I sometimes wonder if Jesus came back around and read some of the things about him he would step back and say "WTF? When did I say/do that?"

Jesus was indeed real and there is quite a bit of evidence to support that He was the Messiah. Check out this book for more info (it was written by an atheist):
The Case for Christ by Lee Strobel
Also, if you read the Old Testament, there is prophecy everywhere about Jesus. The Old Testament was written long before Jesus was born - how do you suppose that happened?
Sounds like Jesus forgot to ?waste the land of Assyria with the sword.? So either the Old Testament wasn't the word of God, or Jesus wasn't the son of God. You take your pick. Either way, the prophecy wasn't fulfilled. And no, there is NO evidence Jesus was the Messiah, son of God or a person with any extraordinary powers.Micah 5:5 - And this man shall be the peace, when the Assyrian shall come into our land: and when he shall tread in our palaces, then shall we raise against him seven shepherds, and eight principal men.
Micah 5:6 ? And they shall waste the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod in the entrances thereof: thus shall he deliver us from the Assyrian, when he cometh into our land, and when he treadeth within our borders.
