Jesus was indeed real and there is quite a bit of evidence to support that He was the Messiah. Check out this book for more info (it was written by an atheist):
The Case for Christ by Lee Strobel
Also, if you read the Old Testament, there is prophecy everywhere about Jesus. The Old Testament was written long before Jesus was born - how do you suppose that happened?
Please cut the crap. Lee Strobel is not an Atheist. He says he USED to be an Atheist until he found Christ, so that makes him a Christian now (I quite frankly don't believe he used to be an Atheist though). He was just an out of control drunk and apparently couldn't control his own life and needed a crutch (Christianity) to get by. The guy is a fvcking moron. I recently picked apart one of his moronic seminars someone gave me to listen through just to see if what this guy was saying was legit. Surprise surprise, the guy is a moron. His little seminar was full of contradictions and just flat out moronic statements that ONLY someone that believed in this garbage would buy.
Strobel mentions fulfillment of the prophecies. Unfortunately, the prophecies are so vague ANYONE could have fulfilled them. But let's view this from a different angle. If the Old Testament was really the word of God, and Jesus was really the son of God, EVERY prophocies should be fulfilled, correct?
Micah 5:5 - And this man shall be the peace, when the Assyrian shall come into our land: and when he shall tread in our palaces, then shall we raise against him seven shepherds, and eight principal men.
Micah 5:6 ? And they shall waste the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod in the entrances thereof: thus shall he deliver us from the Assyrian, when he cometh into our land, and when he treadeth within our borders.
Sounds like Jesus forgot to ?waste the land of Assyria with the sword.? So either the Old Testament wasn't the word of God, or Jesus wasn't the son of God. You take your pick. Either way, the prophecy wasn't fulfilled. And no, there is NO evidence Jesus was the Messiah, son of God or a person with any extraordinary powers.
Strobel is the "used car salesman" of Christianity. And anyone that falls for his bullsh!t, is just a weak minded individual that is either too lazy or too afraid to look at his "evidence" and see that it is completely unfounded.
