hmmm... no P4 for Linux??

Pentium® 4 Processors
Linux* Doesn't Recognize Pentium® 4 Processor and Fails to Install

Linux* uses a CPUID database for processor identification, which is used by the installer for providing components and features supported by various Intel® processors. The Linux* CPUID Database revision 2.x does not properly identify the Pentium® 4 processors. As a result, the installation will be halted, not completing the operating system install. Intel Corporation is working closely with Linux* operating system vendors to make updates available. Please contact your Linux* vendor regarding an updated Linux* CPUID database, with Pentium 4 processor recognition.

it's a matter of time before this will be fixed, linux is an ever-evolving OS, so once PIV gets ina hands of kernel developers, the issue will be addressed ASAP.

This sucks. Considering you can't even install without the fix, you can't just download it - you have to wait until it finds its way into the distros.
