its done this a few times now, think i need to get my remote start system checked out :)

I had one that did this. It killed the battery from too many re-starts before I found the problem.

There is a setting on some remote starters that is designed to start you car when the battery voltage drops below a certain level, some also do thins based on temperature. Maybe that feature is turned on.

Put it in gear without using the parking brake. This will keep it from happening again.
