Hmm which A64 mobo would you choose?

mmm, I'm in the same boat (which is getting a tad crowded...) I've been dithering for a few weeks about getting a moboard. How does the EPoX EP-8KDA3+ compare to the EPoX EP-8KDA3J? No mention of the '+' here.....?

It's $60 more for, what, SATA raid? It's just a waste of money.

Whatever y'all are voting on.... I have the 8kda3j and I found it to be a very solid board.
Have you found any benchies where the 250GB/6800GT combo gets a boost from forceware opts? Maybe RTCW or QIII?

Forgive me if this a newbee question but does the asus k8n-e have hypertransport support? I looked up the board on asus's website and the hypertransport logo was noticeably missing.

Yes, it's HT.

I haven't seen any benches on this subject...... I've certainly heard there are advantages and it certainly feels like there are. It would be interesting to see something that shows the kind of gains you get with this combination. I haven't been able to come up for air yet with Far Cry to even run other games since I installed the BFG gt.

The only numbers I saw showed that it helped a bit in totally CPU-limited benchmarks (such as Quake3, and the CPU tests in 3DMark), but did basically nothing for more modern games that are largely GPU-limited. I haven't seen an analysis with a 6800 and recent drivers, though.

Edit: numbers from tech-report Impressive gains in a few SPEC-ViewPerf benches, and Q3A got a kick in the pants, but nothing else (in most cases, both the RADEON and GeForceFX card were faster on the NForce3, with the GeForce gaining a bit more percentage-wise in the CPU-limited tests). It would be nice to see more thorough benchmarks (especially with the next-gen cards, and at 'realistic' settings.
