Yeah no doubt. To me the high between hydro, oxy, methadone, suboxone, fentynal is pretty comparable.Originally posted by: zanejohnson
you should put heroin and pain killers in one group labeled opiates...

If I had to explain it, I'd say once you've smoked for a while you become indoctrinated into the culture. Personally, I'm addicted to the process. The ritual if you will. Roll it up and pass it around. The high is just an after-effect. I smoke almost daily at school, but every summer when I come home I go cold turkey. The first day off can suck, but after like 36 hours it's a non-issue.Originally posted by: Eli
It is, but it isn't. It is different. It's hard to explain, and you obviously have to smoke regularly for it to become an issue.Originally posted by: JohnCU

OH COME ON, how can you be addicted to weed?
How can you be addicted to alcohol? Or sex? Or chocolate?
Marijuana may not be as powerful of an addiction as alcohol, cigarettes or pain killers, but believe me, it most certainly exists.
I can tell you more, if you would like. The withdrawl symptoms are mild and just generally unpleasant, but they exist. For me, it comes in the form of nausea. It's also very hard to eat and sleep for the first couple of days because it regulates those things so much.
Marijuana addiction is very real, and you're right that it isn't the same as alcohol or cigarettes, but it still exists.
Wow, i had no idea. i never hear about anyone going to marijuana rehab and everyone who's ever smoked tells me that it's not addicting... sorry.
Many people experience no withdrawls, but the typical ones are pretty mild in the scheme of things. If you're active and not paying attention to the whole scenario, it does make it easier.
It's much more of a psychological thing than physical, but the empty pit in your stomach-nausea thing is pretty common. The sleep and eat thing is just more of a consequence of not having those stimulants around than a "withdrawl", I would say.

To anybody out there who's in the same boat, Damiana is a very good herb to smoke that mellows you out and tastes great, but it doesn't come with the multi-hour commitment afterwards. Dried hops are good too, but a little harsh.
Apparently I wasn't clear enough, because I agree 100% with you. What I'm trying to say is, you take somebody without much self control and make herb readily available and they will continue to smoke. They don't need/crave in the sense that people who are physically addicted do, but the end result is the same: they'll keep smoking.Originally posted by: Ns1

You just explained a psychological addiction, not a physical addiction.
Physically addictive = coke, meth, heroin, barbituates (sp?), etc
Herb is not physically addictive.
I've never gotten physical withdrawals when I stopped smoking. Caffeine on the other hand is a fucking bitch.
I'm really trying to talk myself out of going to the store and getting some liquor even though I know it's stupid. I was drunk the whole weekend and have to work tomorrow.Originally posted by: JohnCU
it appears ATOT has its fair share of addicts. i don't feel so lonely anymore!
