this is assuming the run of the mill, clothing/makeup model

a lot of models end up getting worse skin as they age, some were always a little blotchy....most do not look that 'hot' in person. However they usually still have nice bodies nonetheless.

Companies choose mostly on body type and face structure....they make there clothes a certain way and don't want to taylor them to each woman.

There are a few truly beautiful ones though, usually found with a guy old enough to be their dad, but rich enough to get rid of anyone that would say that to them in person

While airbrushing is sometimes helpful, there's a lot of 'noise' in that picture to begin with. My bet is a better quality picture (more lighting, better camera/lens, less clothing) would have made the skin smoothing a non-issue.
