Okay, two big questions here for me....I would greatly appreciate any ideas/help.
Firstly, I recently got ahold of a 2200+ to replace my 2000+ on my 8kha+ mobo. Now, am I correct in thinking that the 2200 is the Throroughbred core? I am kind of interested in overclocking a little, and even if I do not, I would like to get a new HSF b/c the one currently on is quite bad, with my temp being around 57c idle according to MBM. Anyway, I had read that the Swiftech MCXC 370 was a very good HSF and with a fan can be had for about $40. However, all of the reviews were run quite a while back with like Athlon 1GHZ's....so, is this still a viable HSF, and if not, what is a pretty good OC'r?
BTW, how high have some you gotten out of your 2200+?, I would be happy to get to about 1.9-2.0GHZ (chip is clocked @ 1.8) Also, is 2100 ram okay to overclock a little, r do I need 2700/3200 to get any overclockable stability.
Now, my second issue. I have an R300 (radeon 9700 pro) video card, and it sucks up some MAJOR power from the same rail (12v I think) as external/internal drives. So I went with a Sparkel/Fortron 400 Watt PSU which has gotten excelent reviews, but it was an absolute disaster for me, not even being able to post most of the time, much less boot. So I have to send it back to NewEgg, and get a refund. Soooo, my question is, which PSU should I get?
Thanks for any help.
