I need to get a wireless NIC and see if theres anybody in the apartment complex next to me that I can mooch off of if/when my cable ever goes out. 😛

I think one day I'll have a little PC in my car to play MP3's through the car stereo. I'll have to put wireless networking in so it can "syncronize" them while it's in the garage 🙂

how do you have it going through?
Did you get an 1/8"-->car stereo connector, or were you lucky enough to have 1/4" jacks on the stereo or something...because I want to put a computer in my car, and the only thing I've seen that'd work for me is an FM Transmitter, which I've heard can have bad transmission sometimes.

All you need is an input. Don't most car stereos have an aux?
 
I have heard of people doing what you are doing...but they do it to mess with other people's computers...a lot of people never change their password from the default of ADMIN

brb, have to pick up my fiancee from school, and I can't keep the net connection up while I drive over there unless I plug in my cell phone and switch to dialup.

u just need to get a tape with a connetor that u can connect to the computer so u play the tape and u can listen thru your car speakers.

Yep, but not for jacking with other's computers...that is illegal.

I have a laptop mounted under the seat with a Wi-Fi card. When I start the car, the laptop boots, and loads the MP3 player, and syncs if needed. It holds my entire collection. It goes into the Aux port (RCA) on my deck. Works pretty good. I control it through a rig I built mounted to the steering wheel. Can't tell what I am doing just yet, but I can stop, FF, RWD, and skip 10. Been looking for a voice mod or something to tell me what directory I am in; that way I would know where I was in the collection
