They also do work related to those who deal largely in cash. People that own vending machine companies, bars, etc. sometimes try to claim less than they actually made, and a forensic accountant can often go in and establish just how much they would have made.

My friend is actually about to get into and specialize in forensic accounting. I just asked her, and didn't ask how you go about becoming one, but basically they're hired by law enforcement agencies(RCMP up here) to audit/invesitage "white collar crime". Drug trafficing, money laundering, etc. anything organized crime rings would do, I'd imagine.
