Yup, check out their reseller ratings. On a side note OP, you might actually want to bullet point whatever "hot deal" you find in the thread title, or the sub-title.

Monarch Computer=Buyer Beware.
I bought an X2 4400 Retail from them about 3 months ago and they sent me the wrong CPU, (an X2 4200 OEM). It took 3 weeks to get it straightened out. I sent the X2 4200 back the next day and then I got an email about 3 days later stating that the X2 4400 Retail was out of stock, 2 1/2 weeks later I finally got it. I will never buy anything from them again. Their Rep has gone down the tubes.

Hm? I'm looking for a 754 processor, and that Sempron 3400+ fort $55 might fit the bill...

There's someone selling a Athlon 64 3200+ for $55 on the forsale section, and it's my understanding that these two are the same thing with a smaller cache on the Sempron...

New vs used? 256K vs 1MB?

I bought a couple of Opterons just a little while ago from Monarch and they arrived quickly. I'd buy from them again if they had a sweet deal on something I needed, but at the same time I'd be hoping I wouldn't have to deal with customer service if something went wrong.

Marvel at his tricks, need your Sunday fix,
Blind devotion came, rotting your brain,
Chain, Chain,
Join the endless chain, taken by his glamour,
Fame, Fame,
Infection is the game, stinking drunk with power,
We see.

The Optys will get real affordable, real soon.
Even the dual cores!
The street prices listed in the link will likely get even lower after the price cut takes effect.

Yeah.

I laugh when people say $160 for an opteron is a hot deal.

yeah , when a conroe E6300 is only $172.00 for retial box shipped.
I sold my opty 165 for $165.00 shipped and 9393 board for $75.00 so for like $70.00 i am going conroe.

got $150.00 for my 2 x 1gb ram G-skill PC3200, and maybe $20.00 extra to get 2gb ddr2, if i catch it onsale, but i settled for 2 x 512mb for now, so upgrade cost was nil, i just downgraded my ram to 1gb, will get a 2 x 1gb set when ram gets cheap again and hace 3gb total.

But the thing is, according to the DDR demand measuring companies or whatever, DDR2 demand basically spiked and peaked this month-probably because the big OEMs are taking up almost all the supplies of chip right now. DDR2 prices are supposed to fall from here on out anyways.

Just wait out the holiday spike and you should be golden.
