Link.

I can only assume that it's truly Gabe this time (I'm sure he's changed his forum password). Just thought some people here would like the news.

Planet HL2 confirmed this after calling Valve and talking to Newell/Lombardi. Frankly, I don't care. I can't play an RC. Let me know when it's on the shelf.

Mis-spelling his own last name is the really clever part.

how are bug fixes or more major coding changes going to be implemented if you guys already have the whole game. Re-download the new version or will patches be sufficient?

Rock on! ... ... ... Unless it's announced that the Steam version will be available a full month before the retail one. Not sure I could deal with that.

Yeah right, that would suck if you went out and paid $50 for some beta crap that ran for everyone else and not you. You would be pissed. Or what if it sorta/kinda ran? You could see how cool it would be, but it keeps crashing or freezing up on you, wouldn't that be great! I'd rather they take their time and come out with something that works well.

The parts that have been pre-loaded are the textures, sounds and models that are not going to change.
