"Newell On HL2 Episodes & The Xbox360:
There is some pretty interesting Half Life 2 news coming out of the HalfLife2.net forums today. Apparently, in an interview in the latest CGW magazine, Gabe Newell is quoted as saying the Xbox360 ?makes things a lot worse? by offering a version without a hard drive. There is also a nugget of info that says Valve plans on releasing new episodes for HL2 every few months. Supposedly, the next ?episode? after HL2: Aftermath will focus on vehicles and such. Interesting stuff.

They are planning on a new episode for Half-Life 2 every 3 months, and then a seasonal box set for retail. Gabe Newell thinks that Microsoft's new OS Vista won't solve problems, and X360 is a pain because they told them "You can't rely on the hard drive"." ~HardOCP

Gabe Newell needs a brick to the face. Everything is bad news to him, dualcore - crap, XBox360 - crap, Vista - crap. I bet "every 3 months" is more like every 2 years...

almost all xbox360's will have hard drives. they're making a limited amount of "core editions" that don't come w/ hdd

But the point is, all xbox360 games will have to be made to function for systems without harddrives. It doesn't matter if only a few are sold compared to the bundled version.
