HL2. Lets see, better gameplay, Counter Strike Source, HL2 DM already, DOD Source coming out, and an engine that is very dynamic and capable of putting out great FPS with visuals. No brainer.
 
Only played Doom so far so that was my vote.

The 'scary movie' atmosphere in Doom is incredible, even if it doesn't have the most innovative gameplay. I haven't been this truly frightened by a game since my first Resident Evil experience.

Yeah, it's good. Nothing to go crazy over as people were doing near the release date. I still haven't beaten actually. Just exited the Alpha Labs 4.

Kinda wish I just downloaded it, and bought HL2...
oh well.

Ravenholm from HL2 was pretty scary, lots of things jumping at you from rooftops, and everywhere, and then are in your face out of nowhere.

 
I would be very surprised if anyone actually voted Doom3 because they liked the game... it was probably just to be different in the poll results.
 
Well.. i voted for Doom3.. but not because HL2 is a bad game, its not. Its hard to decide between them. i enjoy both games equally.

I voted for doom because steam sucks ass. So would rather give my money to id.

Or you dislike the need to validate a singleplayer game purchased on a CD at a store via the internet before you can play it.
 
I've only just started hl2, but I like it so much better than doom3. I feel like I wasted money on doom3.
 
If they made another AvP installment on the Doom3 engine that would r0x0rs my b0x0rs, as the kids say.

But based on the demos I've seen I'd go with HL2. Much more interesting gameplay it seems.
