I thought this was a single-player thing too. I'd be interested in checking that out.

the idea of a single player NT might manifest itself into a indie title *somewhere down the road. I know deej has talked about that but it would require a new game engine or funds to license a engine and the wear withal of the team to do it :)

Also, this game is hardcore. If you play fps 8 hours a day for the last 10 years you will love the challenge (if you like challenge in your games). If you are a fps noob you will find it difficult but I would recommend playing and learning the maps. The guy with the ghost holds all the cards and can dictate what the other team does and direct his/her own team without ever firing a shot. Most games are made for the enjoyment of as many people as possible so they can earn $. This thing goes for the grit, no damage direction sense, no nade indication, complexity with FF and enemy recognition. Your teammate throws a nade and it bounces off the wall? It kills him (shortbus) by default and kills you and 2 other teammates.

I enjoyed it. I'm finding that support is the way to go -_-;; I think i spent 80% of my time as recon. I find that i do much better as support. I think there should be some balancing done. I don't think that the camouflage of recon is very effective.

editI find that guns matter a lot as to how you perform. lol. I mean, playing recon w/lieutenant is awesome. I just use the rifle, and I can easily sneak up, and kill them before they can even turn around. Assaults included. Support, maybe a bit more challenging but still manageable as they are slow. Hell, recons are harder to kill. However, playing recon with just the p90 is pretty bad. I mean when the support or assault can kill you in 1/4 of the time it takes for you to kill them, you're probably going to die a lot.

I find it best to start out as support. With basic weapons early on, the hitpoints matter a lot. Then once you get the blue rifle thingy as assault, use it. Then once lieutenant go recon.

Great game though. I love the vision modes. Night vision is a bit useless imo. Haven't played a map where I can actually use it effectively. Thermal is awesome, and so is motion.

edit: I generally start as support and use the zr-68, then switch to the MX-5, then go assault and use MX-5 suppressed. Then keep using that until I reach lieutenant and use the eitehr mx5 or zr-68. Whichever one is usable by the recon.

Haven't tried out too many weapons yet though.

2nd edit: kinda makes me sad, but their are a ton of hackers. Chams/wallhack etc.

hey guys. Thanks for the kind words. We are working on a update to balance some weapon fire plus a few oops bugs we didnt catch in 2 freakin years of play testing :) I will update when it's released. As for the night vision, the best/most useful spots for it will be in the scout only areas of the maps that support this. It's not something you leave on all the time. The recon class is probably for the advanced player that knows when to use it I guess (not a slant at you we just found that during play tests).

Praxis, there are no wall hackers except for the one we coded into the game :) If you hold the ghost you are the wall hacker :)

This sounds pretty cool, have seen a few friends playing it on Steam recently. I played CS in leagues for years, lately I've just been playing TF2 on pubs which is fun, but I find it's too noob friendly (e.g. a good CS player can dominate a pub solo, but in TF2 even an amazing soldier can die to stupidly suicide rushing pyros, demo spam etc).

I tried it for a bit last night, but damn, it was hard. Didn't help that I had not looked at the controls at all and many of the keys did not do what I expected them to do. I'll have to try it again, maybe tonight.

yeah its pretty hardcore :) A lot of it is knowing the maps and people have had time to learn them so new players have a learning curve :) And learning to not shoot your teammates - thats actually hard.

Marked for download later. I think I remember another post about the development of this mod, though it looked interesting.

Hope it's kickass! :)
