i know that my x800xl doesnt support SM 3.0, and that lost coast utilizes it so will i be able to play it at all?

YES. SM2.0b supports most HDR features.

Looks like you can play it in LowQ, but not high. at least thats what I got out of this thread.

What the difference between the two modes is remains to be seen.

report on bit-tech today says that it even worked on a 9600

and that bit-tech themselves demoed the map on a centrino laptop with a fireGL card. but come on ATI payed Valve, this game will run on ATi cards capable of DX9
