HL2 Help need

Merry Christmas everybody,

I know that quite a few of you have already finished the game therefore i would creatly apreciate any tips to conclude chapter 3 and move on with the rest of the game.

I suppose i'm close to conluding the chapter but i have no clue how to get out. I do have a print screen image but i don't know how to attach it to this posting so i'll try !"@;?>< to explain in words.

After i've have picked the sub-machine gun, in and out of the water, kill a few badies on the way and finally enter a room were i have to climb up, jump on the big pipe, walk ON THE PIPE in order to move across, jump down, walk up and turning left is where i get stuck. I can climb down and into the water but everything is blocked with iron bars and without explosives near by i have no idea how to move on.

Please heeeeeeeeeeeeeelp!!!!!!!!!!

there should be a valve you have to turn in the other room (with the bars). drop down the pipes carefully and you should see a red valve to turn to rasie the water...

ur kidding me...that game is so easy to get around wiht. 🙂 or i may just have been lucky to find my way through the game so easily.

That spot has really no trick to it. I don't remember specifically which way you turn, but you just walk around till you find the way out.

are you sure about this... from what he described that sounds like the part with the valve...

Correct; took me a while to find that as well. It was fairly well hidden IMHO.

I found the valve easily, it just took me forever to realize I was supposed to go back to the other room and swim through the opening there 😉

yeah, the having to backtrack was unusual, the game is so lineral that it was totaly unexpected 🙂

I was playing it a week or so ago and I couldn't find the valve at first, but I seen the big pipe to the other room and ladder to the top where I knew I had to get to. So seeing all those barrels in the big room, I threw them all down into the water and attempted to construct a monster stack of 'em so that I could get up to the pipe. After getting VERY close but not quite high enough, I went and found the valve to raise the water. Would've been cool to make it without the water though (if the ladder extended far enough down).
