HL2 Episode 1

For some reason when I play Episode 1 my mouse and keyboard freeze in a certain keypress and it sends Freeman walking helplessly into gunfire, off ledges, and other dangerous things. I updated the game fully and even have a new keyboard plugged in and it still does it. Any ideas? Thanks.

yea that happens to most computers. just tap the direction key in which he is walking a few times and it will stop. I think if you press a few keys at once or something that happens.

Okay, its doing it in other games now too. I did just upgrade my graphics drivers, perhaps something is corrupted?

I've had this happen to me a few times, particularly after installing a new graphics driver without removing the old one first.

Reinstall the latest edition of DirectX (download it from Microsoft). That should fix the issue. If not, reinstall the latest graphics driver as well. Be sure to remove the old one first.

Here's what happened, I didn't correctly remove my old NGO Radeon drivers, it had an error, but then I installed the Omega drivers. Reinstalling directx didn't help. Any ideas? Thanks.

Uninstall the drivers and run driver cleaner.
