Intellectual property theft is no joke. I don't personally understand why this would affect the release date though- most production environments I'm familiar with have these newfangled "tape backups" or "offsite backups" they use to protect themselves from loss of work. Maybe they have to re-do something so the hacked version can't play online with the retail version?
BTW- as far as people jumping on this and saying "LOL ATI fans" goes, maybe they wouldn't if you ATI fans hadn't stuffed this game down every nVidia owners throat every single day since Gaber Day as reason their card is now suddenly worthless and your cards superior. When you add to that Anand says the Det 52s give a huge boost in performance and fix many IQ issues (to the point where Anand said they look the same), the nVidia faithful had a pretty good day.
Rollo - why are you so faithful to Nvidia? They should hire you as a PR hack. Why do you care so much about Nvidia, as if you own stock in them or something. You see everything in black and white. The "fanATIcs" as you call them are out to get you. Perhaps not everyone is a fanATIc, but instead just thinks ATI has/had the best card, based on the information that was out there (before Nvidia cleared up most of its well-documented problems with the FX series).
I know a lot of people here (myself included) have argued with you many times about this, and I am not partial in the least to either company. I've owned stock in Nvidia before, and have never purchased any ATI stock. Yet I currently view ATI as the king of the video market, although Nvidia was undoubtedly king up to the Geforce3/Geforce 4 era.
Yet I'm not a "fanATIc" or an Nvidia "faithful" (or "Nvidiot" or what have you).
And what's with this "stuffing down people's throats" nonsense. When the HL2 benchmarks originally came out, ATI was getting 60+ fps in HL2, while Nvidia (DX9 codepath) was getting 10-15fps. Nobody was ramming anything down anyone's throat, they were merely pointing out a huge descrepancy in performance with two similarly-priced cards.
