Even if it's true and valid, I wouldn't be surprised. I'm waiting for the makers of D3 to follow suite.

The games that do not exist, are delayed.

By all accounts id will have Doom3 released before E3 in May.

LOL, wasn't the original release date September 2003?? 365 days later smacks of vaporware.

So who's to blame...nvidia or the idiots who leaked source code??

I will not be incredibly surprised if this turns out to be the actual release date for the game. For me I have simply lost near all of my interest in it. I look now to light of Doom 3.

Valve and Gamespy would be just as well off forming a mega-corporation where instead of buying video games, you buy flash animations of honda accords.

They tried to sucker me into buying the new ATI card, and they almost had me!

In my opinion, it's the content (artwork, maps, story, voices, etc) that isn't completed yet.

Just had an email from Gameplay.com telling me that the release date for Half Life 2 has been changed to Sep 24 2004

Thats 248 days until release!!!

I guess they must be completly re-making that game! Shame nVidia got so upset about their performance, that they forced a re-work of the GFX Engine to make nVidia GPU's perform better.
Sounds like a reliable source to me.

They're working on the patches, so they can look like they are following up on the errors quickly and don't need work on them after the release of the game.

I have a feeling this game is going to really hurt them, I wonder how much money they'll lose. It can't be cheap to keep these programmers working on it.

Considering it has been delayed for a year, if true, It wouldn't of mattered if you upgraded anyway. Not unless you only save a dollar a day where you work. By the time HL2 actually hits the shelf, I could of upgraded to a 9800 pro or 5900u 3 times over and I' m no rich boy either.

I'm happy I upgraded my Ti4200 to a 9800 when I did. So I wouldn't have to wait 14 months to buy a DX9 card that has great performance on DX8 as well.

Well by the time HL2 and D3 drop, DirectX 9.1 cards will already be on the market. I guess I won't upgrade video in the next 6 months. Only upgrade I'm planning now is to an nForce2 board with MCP-S (if they ever make one) and a Barton CPU.

trust me, Doom 3 will be on store shelves before E3 this year, which is in mid-may...remember, people at Quakecon this past year actually got to play some multiplayer D3 - Painkiller, by the way, is so much fun.......I am a beta-tester!

What about all the people with the "free halflife" coupons from ATI? I imagine ATI is not happy starting that a year before the game comes out.

Exactly, I traded mine and now I'm kinda glad I did.
