HL2 console command to access game levels?

Title and topic summary pretty much state the issue.

Most games have a console command to load any given level of the game, looking for one for half life 2.

Why dont you just create your own save games every once in a while? The manual map loads will take you to the exact same place every auto save happens.

But anyways, to access console, right click HL2 in steam and go to properties. Then click launch options. Put in -console

Once you've got console, you tpye in map mapname

Thx, I just found the answer on the steam forums:

Open the console, type the command 'maps *' to get a list of valid map names. Use the 'map' command to load a particular level. Example:

map d1_trainstation_02
