HL2 aftermath

with aftermath comming out soon I might need to upgrade my computer. I was curious what you think would bottleneck my pc.

AMD 64 3200+
1gig DDR PC3200(2 512)
6600 GT

Thank you

I have the exact same rig and I had no problems with lost coast. I think it might be just fine for the new aftermath episodes. Then again, I prefer playing with 2x antialiasing.

6600 GT isn't that bad @ HDR, as long as you don't do obscene settings. I ran my 6600 (OCed close to GT speeds) on 1680x1050 with HDR, med details and it was hovering 20-30 fps, which is certainly borderline okay range. Although, upgrading might be good, if you want to get the full visual effect. A X850XT (or X800 GTO^2) should let you do 1680x1050 with HDR with high settings. I had a GTO^2 and I played the lost coast demo with that setting and had 40-50 fps.

HL2 doesn't use SM3. I don't think Aftermath does either.

Get your facts straight before you flame.

In fact, stop flaming altogether. 😛
