Amazon makes you put the item in the cart to get their "discounted" price of $52.99

But they will take $30 off if you sign up for the VISA AMAZON cc so that is what makes it YMMV if you want to do it

I have left over gc so my total comes to $18 if I decide to do it

Just a head's up for anyone who was thinkin about a VISA card anyway

you don't get the discount instantly, you have to wait to be approved, then after 2 weeks or so the $30 appears in your amazon account so you can use it.

Thx for info

You'd apply for card, wait @week, and then use taht card to make the purchase to get it at stated price above

My Amazon.com card is from Chase Manhatten / Bank One. I just got it a couple weeks ago. Is First USA now part of Bank One too?

I was able to use it instantly.
Make sure you choose the Amazon card as the card to use during check out.

Do we really need to tell you that using general purpose gift cards and coupons does not make a hot deal on a specific product ? I mean, you could take the $30 discount you get for signing up for the amazon credit card and apply it to any purchase of any product, for example, you could buy a $35 book for $5 - yeeepppeee what a deal !!!!! Likewise if you have a gift card, let's say $100, and you use it to buy a $100 item, it doesn't mean you got a hot deal on that item (free!!!), because you could have used the gift card for any item. Kapish ?

As the title suggests, it is YMMV. In addition, this was the time HL2 had come out... since HL2 was referenced in the title, like several of the similar threads designed for HL2 buyers, it would appeal to anyone looking to buy the game at less than the common price of $49.99+

This CC deal was in addition to the discount already credited by Amazon. As the title suggests, the end deal for everyone else is in the title, an amount of $22.99 - I added my note about having the gift card as just an editorial on my order.

But thx for the thread crap on a month old thread old anyway
