What L4D needs is regular addons (like tf2) and perhaps paid expansion packs, not entirely new games every year.

Yea, didn't see that at first as well. I just assumed it was a black image with some text. I blame my crappy monitor.

Or, they could release one a year. This isn't TF2, it's an entirely different game. You just don't throw in new guns and maps and call it an update. L4D is much more atmospheric, and needs new characters to fill the atmosphere, along with new weapons and infected and ways to enhance the game.
 
BTW, the title of this thread gave a different impression. Anyone else remember the major leak of the Half-Life 2 source code?

I`m guessing you`re one of those people who thought L4D2 was so much more different then the first one that a sequel was warranted then just an add-on which it basically is. I will not be conned into another L4D add-on, I mean sequel.

I think L4D2 could have easily been DLC for L4D1. Then I'd have 10 maps in my one game with the same friends. Even if it was still a $50 DLC, it'd have been better. Why not be just one game?! It'd be like convenience cubed. The way it is now, L4D1 just doesn't get played anymore. So stupid that it's two games.

I'm ones that didn't suck Valve's cock dry caring about DLC for TF2 and releasing "episodes" of the same (shitty) game. I'm one of the ones who realizes L4D2 is different in almost every way, sparing the obvious mechanics and gameplay that had to stay to make it the game we all know and love. I'm not one of the idiots who called it the same and called it DLC, or one of the idiots who tried to boycott them. I'm not one of the idiots who has no idea what they are talking about when they do that sort of thing. No sir, I am not you.

easy now, he already has it bad enough that he has no friends and thus cannot play L4D the way it is meant to be played, take it easy on him
 
If that's a fake the person who did it is a great typographer. Excellent kerning and font selections. June 14th is the day before e3 this year. Could this be some sort of internal document readying their E3 personal for the announcement of the next installment of half life?

Well, if it is real, it was probably purposely let into the wild to gain hype.

Of course Gabe would say its fake because they want to keep everyone on edge before June 14. I dunno, I'll just wait and see.

Aw come on, im a L4D2 fan but it is still more of the same lol... Same game different maps with added melee and other assorted items. Probably enough to make a new game but i doubt they could manage it a 3rd time.
 
someone at least went to some effort to make this look real... i mean... they could have just stuck the graphic in a valve looking website. the photo looks to be a printed item that's not centered with the frame of the camera...


but then again it could just be someone's final for their graphic design class.

you know I found them pretty terrible too, I'm not trying to troll though. I prefer more story in my games than the tidbits every couple hours of gaming that Valve gives you. They could put a lot more content in it. Yah yeah it's a shooter, blah blah. But if you don't keep me interested, then it's just another shooting game. Which is what it is to me. Not even worth the time to play, let alone the money to buy.
