Hitting f6 while installing xp

Ok so I'm trying to install the sata drivers and when It goes into the windows setup and says hit f6 if you want to install scsi/raid drivers well I hit f6 and nothing happens. I've tried holding it down, hitting it multiple times and it just ignores it and keeps on going. Am I doing something wrong? thanks for the help
 
It doesnt stop automatically when you hit F6. It looks as though it isnt doing anything, but it will show up and ask you for the SATA/RAID drivers when Windows is ready for them.
